Description

The Walking Liberty Silver Half Dollar is considered one of America’s most beautiful coins. The obverse depicts Lady Liberty wrapped in a U.S. flag and walking towards the rising sun. The reverse shows a magnificent eagle with its wings stretched.  This collection brings together the three Walking Liberty Half Dollars from the three U.S. Mints. Together, they make a fabulous collection that features the complete mint mark collection.  The Walking Liberty Half Dollar was struck at the U.S. Mints in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco. The different coins can be identified by the small mint mark on the reverse, to the left of the word “half.” The coin from Denver has a small “D” mint mark, while the San Francisco coin has an “S” mint mark and the coin from Philadelphia has no mint mark.

The coin was designed by legendary sculptor Adolph A. Weinman. The Walking Liberty design is so extraordinary that it was brought back by the U.S. Mint in 1986 for the American Eagle Silver Dollar. This is a great chance to own the original coin that inspired America’s first silver bullion coin!

The Walking Liberty Half Dollar was struck by the U.S. Mint from 1916-1947, so every coin is now over 70 years old.  This was America Half Dollar from World War I through the “Roaring Twenties,” the Great Depression, and World War II, but it has been out of issue for over 70 years since 1947.

Each coin was struck in 90% pure silver.  Finding even a single Walking Liberty Half Dollar can be a challenge today, and the complete mint mark collection is a rare opportunity to own a set of coins that will be the envy of collectors everywhere.  Due to its large size and 90% silver composition, millions of coins have been melted for the silver over the years – leaving few for today’s collectors.

The three-coin collection is housed in a custom display box and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
